It's the last day of school and seven children are being told a story by a substitute teacher when they fall asleep as though a spell has been cast over them. When they awaken they discover that annoyingly perfect clones have been sent home in their place while they remain prisoners of school. Worse, it's now the FIRST day of school. At least they live in a fabulous dorm with beautiful gardens and the city of Venice outside their window. Food and delicious desserts appear like magic. Their living copies must know what's going on, but they're not saying much. Is it a clever alien invasion where children are being gradually cloned and replaced? Are they trapped in a story? Why does their principal look like a witch? Should they try to escape from their gilded cage? One thing is certain: The world is in great danger and it is up to the children to save it. You have to be a kid or a child at heart to enjoy this story because only a kid has enough imagination to believe it and only a kid knows how hopelessly clueless adults are. It might help to be a girl as the hero is a girl and there's a bit of first romance, but boys will like the sports, adventures, and scary stuff. A peregine falcon, a mysterious substitute teacher, two ghosts from the Titanic, and funny kids with amazing talents make up the cast of this modern fairy tale of fantasy and fun. Enjoy!
